Field Notes - A State of Mind
Jill Parisi-Phillips, Lorrie Fredette, Dylan McManus, Laura Moriarty & Robert Capozzi

Each of the artists involved in this project randomly determined the order in which they would occupy a designated space to create an installation. Each documented their installation being both created and dismantled, and left behind a fragment for the next artist, resulting in a co-operative accumulation of ’field notes’. The group decided that the last person to work in the space, Bob Capozzi, would place just one fragment in the space for the first artist. The artists are listed in the sequence that they worked in the space.

LORRIE FREDETTE:
”It appears uninfected but just below the surface...”

LAURA MORIARTY:
”I will navigate this space; a very defined line separates the eddy from the flow.”

DYLAN MCMANUS:
”I will invade this space. I am ’progress’, expansion, industrialization, globalization, indoctrination, conquest, control, profit and civilization... I am as ancient as the first plow to hit the earth. What I leave behind here, in this space, will be the unfortunate detritus of my species.”

JILL PARISI-PHILLIPS:
”That boy again. The boy. He should be playing, but instead it is a real war. What can I do? Right here? Right now? Maybe give him a different dream...”

BOB CAPOZZI:
> accumulate > collaborate > react >adapt > relate > organize > ”
